I watched Disclosure this morning This is the most informative documentary I have watched in a long, long time. It was so sad and painful and beautiful and honest - it's true, the representation of the trans community in media through history is hideous, they're marginalised in to the darkest corners of film - murderers, spectacles, sex workers (not that there is any issue with sex work, it's just that the trans community is so much more than this.). I go out of my way to educate myself about the world around me, the people around me, the problems that our society face. I try to contribute as much momentum verbally and through communication as I can, but it only reaches so far. This is the type of documentary that I want to be seeing, this is the well researched and beautifully produced work that educated me beyond my knowledge, and I am proud to have learnt what I did.
